The router has successfully dialed up to IPv6, and the delivered RA message carries the DNS server address. The router has the DNS proxy capability.***Moved from zh-hans Windows / Windows 10 / ***

  2. DNS problems with router

A couple suggestions I have for you:

Update the firmware on the router. Maybe it's getting into a badstate, and a firmware update might fix it. Or if you're comfortable with it, install a custom firmware like dd-wrt. Just make sure its supported on your router first.

Change your DNS to: 8.8.8.8, 4.2.2.1. Might help.

If none of these work, maybe statically set your DNS on your PS3/PC to the IPs you listed, taking the router out of the lookup procedure.

Last option, is look for a new router.

router logs DoS attack from a local PC....

Well you did not say that you don't really know what you are doing. It's not a problem of course, but it changes things a little.

It's not even clear if the PC or the router is the problem at this time, so I suggested that you disable some unnecessary things which are usually known to cause many problems, sorry if those were too complicated.

    • You could reset some network related stuffz on the PC as a next step. Open an elevated command prompt (run as administrator), and enter the followings on the PC:
      netsh int ip reset reset.log
      netsh int ipv6 reset
      netsh winsock reset
      netsh branchcache reset
      netsh advfirewall reset
(note: You can export your current firewall rules in the "group policy" before the reset if it's needed for some reason)

    • Btw, Would it be a problem to reset the router to the default settings if the things we are trying will not help? There is a menu point for that called "factory settings" (and also a little hole on the back if you prefer that one).. the Administrator username in the router after the reset would be admin and the password is probably on a sticker at the bottom of the router (special settings needed to go online with your ISP might be also necessary)
This is not needed now (not yet), but perhaps the source of the problem is at the router and not the PC in question, so we may come to that eventually.
ps.: Do you have a second network card you could test in that PC and a different cable to rule out some hardware issues on the PC side?

Win 10 PC can't see itself under Network Folder

I have two PCs on a home LAN. But only one of the two appears under the Network Folder.

I remote support family computers. There are two computers PC-1 and PC-2 a LAN. Only PC-2 is listed under the Network Folder (of both PCs). But PC-1 is not listed under Network Folder of either PC. I can type \\PC-1\c$ from a remote computer and it connects just fine. So why won't PC-1 appear under the Network Folder of either of the two PCs?

    PC Specs

    • Both PC’s running Win10 Pro x64 v1909 Build 18363.1016
    • PC-1 is a Dell Optiplex 755. PC-2 is a Dell Optiplex 990
    • PC-1 has Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter w/Driver version 9.13.41.3

    PC-1 Setup
    • Network Status: Ethernet Private network
    • Ethernet -> Network Profile -> Private
    • Network and Sharing Center -> Advanced Sharing -> Settings -> Private (current Profile)
      • Selected – Turn on network discovery
      • Selected – Turn on automatic setup of net connected devices
      • File and Printer Sharing Turned on
    • Service Function Discovery Provider Host – Running | Manual
    • Service Function Discovery Resource Publication – Running | Manual (Trigger Start)

PC-1 and PC-2 are in the same Workgroup. PC-1 AV/Firewall is Norton. I turned off PC-1 firewall off and rebooted. PC-1 still didn’t see itself under Network
