Windows 10: When can I update Win10 without losing my profile?

This is unacceptable! Why can't Microsoft address and resolve this issue?


I perform updates and have to jump through hoops to get my desktop back in order by restoring to previous date! Why???

I can't believe that this can't be easily resolved.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

I request you to check if your profile is listed under users list or not. Follow the below step and check:

• 
  Press Windows key + R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz in the box and hit enter.
  

If it is not listed, I suggest you to restore the system to the previous point where PC was working normally. To do so kindly follow the below given steps:

• 
  Press Windows + I key and click on Update and security.
  
• 
  Click on Recovery, and click on
  Restart under Advance startup.
  
• 
  In the Windows Recovery Environment, on the Choose an option screen, click
  'Troubleshoot'.
  
• 
  Click, Advanced Options and then click on
  System Restore.
  
• 
  Follow the onscreen suggestion to restore your PC to earlier point.
