Windows 10: When dictating, the microphone keeps switching off. How do I stop it?

When dictating, the microphone keeps switching off. How do I stop it doing so? I have windows 10 home edition.

1. Are you using dictation in Windows or Office application?
   
2. Since when are you facing this issue?
   
3. Did you make any changes to the computer before this issue started?
   

I suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: To dictate text:

1. Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition.

2. Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode.

3. Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into.

4. Say the text that you want dictate.

How to keep windows dictation ON?

If you end the line by saying 'full stop', then you can continue new line and keep dictation on until you write. Also, instead of clicking microphone icon, you can use Windows + H keyboard shortcut to start dictating, which is quite handy.

 

How to keep windows dictation ON?

Hello

When I tried to use the dictation tool in an app after every line that I dictate the dictation would stop and I have to click on the microphone button again. This does not happen when I'm trying to dictate the same text somewhere else, like, this community forum.

Would it be possible for you to help me with this?
