Windows 10: When gaming all background sound goes silent

Hi, I have a laptop that runs Windows 11, when I play video games like League of Legends all other sounds get cut off. For example, when the game starts the Discord call I am part of goes completely silent even-though they hear me talking I do not hear them. The same issue persists for other sounds too, including YouTube. What do I do? I have tried updating the drivers and going through even possible setting that seems relevant to this issue.

FULL silent mode including gaming sounds

From what I read online, this is one feature which windows has FAILED over every other smart phone. A silent mode that turns off all sounds including game sounds. When I put my phone to silent using the volume button, this doesn't turn off gaming sounds.
Are we overlooking this, or is there actually a way to do it.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

silent mode for lumia 710

I can go into each and every game and disable sounds, but when we close and reopen the game it goes back to sound on. Unless there is a way to turn off sounds for all games. The other thing that does not silence during silent mode is any app sounds. I
have an app for some of my university email, and this keeps beeping announcments even though the phone is apparantly on silent.
