Windows 10: When i boot up my laptop some of my game icons are missing

Hello, i just recently got a new external HDD hard drive for my laptop. It was working great I was able to download a bunch of new games I didn't have space for before, but I ran into a problem, whenever I boot up my laptop when my external hard drive has been off for a while most of my game icons on that drive don't show. I have tried a few methods to fix this, such as restarting windows explorer and that worked, but only until I turned my computer off. Is there any way that I can make my D drive load the game icons right when my computer boots up?

Method 1:
Run SFC Scan.  

To run an
SFC scan, follow these steps:

  Command Prompt as Administrator.

  sfc /scannow
  and hit
  Enter.   
  

Method 2:
Run DISM Tool.  

To run
DISM Tool, follow these steps:

• 
  Run
  Command Prompt as Administrator.  
  
• 
  Type the following command:  
  
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /scanhealth  
    
  • 
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth  
    

NOTE:
This might take a while to finish scanning.
