Windows 10: When i connect a new PS3 controller to my Windows 10 pc, i cannot find it in the device manager

i am attempting to use a new ps3 controller to play games on my windows 10 pc. when i attempt to configure the button set up either in the game, or in the device manager to be able to install drivers for the controller, i cannot access it in the device manager. i have tried several methods through video and online tutorials and i cannot find a solution. the only fix i have found even close to a solution is PS3 Controller not being picked up by Windows? - Microsoft Community. but that doesn't work either.


the ps3 controller is the second controller i have attempted to connect. the first was a generic game controller. but it was a model that had outdated support for the drivers. therefore it did not work at all either. for the ps3 controller, i have found a lot more tutorials on how to connect it. but it is with the assumption that i can access it through the device manager.


please advice on what i can do to fix this problem. i would really appreciate it.

PS3 controller

I tried connecting my PS3 controller to my pc using motioninjoy and better DS3 tool but I am not able to make my controller work although I could see it listed in 'devices and printers'.I would be very grateful if someone helps me figure this out.Thanks

ps3 controller won't register as a device

I used to be able to connect my ps3 controller to my laptop and it would work fine. Now, not only does it not work, but when I go into "devices and printers," windows 10 doesn't even recognize the controller as one of my devices anymore; it instead lists
the ps3 controller in the "unspecified" category. I don't know what changed, maybe I accidentally messed around with something and screwed it up but I would really appreciate any help I tried everything. Thanks!

Connect N900 to PS3 controller

I have seen on you tube how people have connected their ps3 controller to N900. (not using N900 as controller but playing games on N900 using the controller)

Can someone please guide me step by step how to connect the controller to N900.
