When I connect my Laptop to the router, the router restarts automatically and the connection is lost.

The router works fine if connected with my other laptops or android devices. Definitely there is no problem with the router according to me but whenever I connect it to the Laptop and start using internet it restarts within 2 minutes. The power light is on but all other lights get off and then they begin to start again but the internet light doesn't. I updated all the drivers, the BIOS and even reset the network on PC. I didn't what the problem is but the observation is that the router disconnects automatically.

Weird Router Stuff - Cannot Connect

I'm completely at a loss here.

In my house we connect through a router. This machine and two others are connected through it. However, for the life of me, I cannot get my laptop to connect to it. I've tried automatically finding the IP/DNS and specifying some IPs in the range given by the router manual, but to no avail.

If I specify the IPs, the connection shows as "Connected, 100mbps" but I can't access the Internet or (more worryingly) access the router at all. If I select automatically find IPs, as the router manual suggests, it doesn't work at all (I get a "limited or no connectivity" message).

What on earth is happening?? This is a new, fresh install of XP on the laptop so it can't be past connections causing a problem.

We would like to know more about the issue, please clarify the following:

• You mentioned that it’s only this laptop that is not able to connect to the Wi-Fi automatically, have you tried any other troubleshooting steps with the laptop before consulting us?
  
• Have you checked the gateway settings of your modem/router?
• What is the make and model of the laptop that’s having the problem?
• Have you tried contacting your Internet Service provider regarding the issue?

these steps is from my dlink router, but i guess a dlink is a dlink...

login in to the the web admin of the router...

go to advance > steam engine

and Enable it and make sure Dynamic Fragmentation & Automatic Uplink Speed are checked.

also set the Connection Type accordingly.

The router than will restart and measure the upload speed and automatically config the QoS.
