Windows 10: When I connecting my wired earphones, the audio is still running on laptop. What should I do?

My laptop audio is working properly. But when I am connecting my wired headphones on that audio jack, the audio is still running on laptop. I have changed the device installation settings of system properties from yes to no. And also I have changed perfomance logs & alerts from manual to automatic. My laptop audio is still not connecting through wired headphones. I need help for this problem.

No, i just bought it yesterday.

• Have you tried the earphones on another PC or laptop?

no, but it works in my smartphone

• How is the earphones connecting to the machine? Is it via wired connection or through Bluetooth?

• When the earphones are connected, are you still getting audio from the speakers?

yes, nothing goes through the earphones though.

Wired earphones not working on Dell laptop (Windows 11)

I recently purchased wired earphones with a 3.5mm jack and am experiencing issues connecting them to my laptop. The laptop fails to recognize the earphones, and the microphone on the wired earphones is not functioning.

In the sound settings on the Control Panel, it indicates in the Playback Tab that the "Headphones Realtek (R) Audio" are not plugged in, even though the wired earphones are currently connected to my laptop. I also don't understand why it states in the device status that "This device is working properly" even though it's not.

I looked online to figure out whether it's an audio problem, a driver issue, or an earphone problem. However, none of these scenarios seem to match, as the earphones work perfectly when connected to another laptop or phone, with both sound and microphone functioning as expected. Despite suspecting a driver problem, my system indicates that the drivers are up to date.

Currently, the laptop's operating system is Windows 11 Pro, and it is a Dell Vostro 3500. I have been grappling with this problem for more than a year and cannot seem to find a solution. I even bought new earphones, assuming that perhaps my previous ones were broken.
