Windows 10: when i download an image from the internet to try and set as my background it wont show up...

I just got a new laptop and I've had previous windows computers so I've been trying to sync my files. i thought i was doing fine until weirdly i went to set a new background and it said i had no files. it told me to sync my one drive, which i did, and when i go into the files app in my task bar all the photos have been synced and i can see all the new photos I've downloaded too. but for some reason just when i go and set my background it wont show me the new files I've downloaded and only the backed up photos for my one drive. i tried to download some from my other windows computer to see if i

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.

Login Screen Background keeps defaulting to stock image

I've set a custom image on my lock screen to show up on the initial login screen whenever I first start up my computer. But occasionally, the login screen defaults to a stock landscape image that comes with Windows 10.

To clarify, here are the steps I've taken:

• Go into Settings -> Personalization -> Lock Screen
• EDIT: Set image to Picture
• Click Browse... to look for and select a picture
• Turn on Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen.

However, no matter how many times I retake these steps, the default login screen background occasionally
comes back. How do I stop this from happening?

UPDATE: I forgot to mention a step here in my initial post. I have already set the background to
Picture, thus the custom image.

 

How to download pictures from web and make it as a desktop background in windows 10

Hi,

You can download files from web using Internet Explorer. To help you in downloading photos in Internet Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open a new tab in Internet Explorer. Go to a site where you want to pick an image.
• Right-click on the image that you want to download.
• Click on Save picture as....
• Choose a folder where you want to save the image.
• Rename the file if you want to. Click on Save.

For changing your desktop background, kindly refer to this article:
Change desktop background and colors. Once that you click the Browse
button, a new window will popup and prompt you to select a file folder. Find the file folder where you saved the image that you've downloaded.
