Windows 10: When I download the minecraft launcher off of mirosoft store, it starts the download then...

I try to download it but then it just says install again.

Unable to Download New Minecraft Launcher from Microsoft Store

I am unable to download the new Minecraft Launcher from the store and I'm seeing an Error Code: 0x89235172.

I have tried multiple ways of fixing this:

• Correct date/time & time zone
  
• Troubleshooting Windows Store
  
• Wi-Fi enabled and working properly
  
• Checked proxy settings
  
• Repaired Windows Store using PowerShell
  
• Reset Windows Store
  
• Restart Computer
  
• System Up-to-Date
  
• Sign-out then sign-in.
  
• Tried installing from My Library
  
• Uninstalled old Minecraft Launcher
  

Please assist me on this, thank you.

 

Problem with the minecraft launcher.

There are many reasons why you can't log in to Minecraft Launcher, but all of them are due to Microsoft Store and related services. I will provide several methods to try to solve this problem, please refer to the following steps for operation:

• Clear the cache on Microsoft Store.
  

1. Press the Windows logo key + R, type wsreset.exe, and select OK.
   
2. After a few seconds a blank command prompt window will appear, which will disappear after about ten seconds and the Microsoft Store will open automatically.This means the cache was cleared successfully.
   

• Make sure you're using the Microsoft Store Install Service.
  

1. Services.msc can be found by pressing Windows Key + S and typing services.msc.
   
2. Locate and double-click the Microsoft Store Install Service; if the status is Running, right-click it and select Restart.
   
3. Change it to Automatic if it's disabled, then click Start and OK.
   

• Reinstall the Microsoft Store app
  

1. Press Windows key + X
   
   Click and Run Windows PowerShell(run as Administrator)Copy and paste the command below then hit Enter:
   
   

• Reinstall the Minecraft Launcher
  

1. Click Start >Settings >Apps，find "Minecraft Launcher" in all apps.
   
2. Click on the "Minecraft Launcher" Advanced options >Uninstall the application.
   
3. Open the Microsoft Store, search for "Minecraft Launcher", download and install it again, and log in to your account to see if it works.

Can't download Minecraft Launcher

May I ask are you trying to install the launcher from the Microsoft store? Also, could you provide the error you are receiving when trying to install the app?

For our troubleshooting, try to update the system as well as the Microsoft store. Press the Windows key + I on the keyboard then go to Update & Security > Windows Update, then click Check for Updates.

In the Microsoft store:

Latest version: Go to the Library, click the Get Updates button then click Update all.

Earlier version: Click the 3 dots menu at the upper-right corner of the store. Select "Downloads and Update". Click Get updates then Update all.

Once done search and install the Minecraft launcher in the store. Open the launcher then install the Minecraft edition you purchase.

If the issue persists, as an alternative you can try using the Minecraft launcher which you can download from the link below.

Note: Make sure you are signed in using the Microsoft account you use to purchase the game in the store and in the launcher.
