    When I get Connected to the internet , default browser gets opened and advertisement pops up


    I have almost tried all the methods ,and even tried all the browser ; I basically use edge as default browser .

    Everytime I connect to the internet , edge gets opened and i get a advertisement of bosh life

    I even tried switching to the different browsers and changed the default browser , no Result :

    Can you please tell me how to get rid of this frustating advertisment.

    As I understand you are trying to set Internet Explorer as your default browser and you are unable to do so. I'd be glad to help you with this issue.

    Please follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
    • Click on System
    • Select Default Apps under System.
    • Under Web browser click on the browser. If you see Edge under web browser click on Edge and you will get a pop up to choose default browser.
    • Choose Internet Explorer. If you have issues try to Reset to Reset to Microsoft Recommended default.
    • Repeat step 4.

    Hi George,

    As you want to set Internet Explorer as the default browser, I suggest you to follow the steps below:

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>System.
    • In the left pane, click on Default Apps.
    • In the right pane, under Web browser, click on Microsoft edge and select
      Internet Explorer.
    • Restart the system and check.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.


    • In desktop search, type default app settings and select the result.

    • Under Web browser, click the current browser (EDGE).

    • Choose Internet Explorer and set it as
      default.
