I recently booted up my PC to enjoy a nice session of gaming when I realized I can't even communicate with people. I could hear them but my mic does not work at all. My usual headset would function properly on the speakers side of things but the microphone function wasn't. I went to the windows settings and did the microphone test probably like 100+ times and then it would say 0% volume EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even tried a separate 3.5mm jack microphone and it does the same exact problem.... Not sure what it is... Last method I tried was to reinstall windows Repair reinstall and it didn't do anyt

    :)

  2. Microphone input registering as 0% volume

I have the same issue with my JBL headset.

When connected to my phone, the speakers and microphone works perfect.

When connected to my pc, the speakers work, but not the microphone. Drivers are up to date, volume is set to where it should be, but when testing the microphone, I get a 0% volume return.

    Microphone input endlessly repeats itself

Could the issue be your microphone being "too good", too sensitive and therefore picking up the sound from speakers? Do the YouTube test again, this time checking the recording levels first in microphone properties. Be sure that boost is off (0 dB) and lower the recording level.

    No line-in microphone input

    Hi there.
Yesterday a new microphone arrived, and I was excited to finally have a proper one. I plugged it in to my laptop and went to test things out, however I've noticed that my laptop doesn't seem to receive any input from it at all, despite it recognising that it's plugged in.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers, and that wasn't any help.
The microphone came with a Y-adapter for use with PCs that have both headphone and mic jacks, which I've been using.
Plugging the cable into the headphone jack without the adapter doesn't seem to do anything regarding the microphone, or at least, the computer doesn't recognise any sort of microphone when plugged in through that.
Doing the same with the microphone jack doesn't result in any input either.
I've tested the microphone with an iPod, without the adapter, and it works just fine, which makes me think that this could be an issue with my laptop.

The microphone I'm using is a V-MODA BoomPro Microphone, and the audio drivers I'm using are the standard Microsoft HD Audio Drivers.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, as I would love to put this new microphone to use. If you need more details, please let me know.
    Many thanks.
