Windows 10: When I open up File Explorer as a window on my Windows 11, the whole thing goes crazy

This happens for the Settings app too, for Settings most of the text is duplicated over the original text, the whole thing is gray, and for File Explorer the top bar that lets you minimize, maximize, and close is transparent and the text is duplicated too. I ran a full scan with my antivirus and it didn't detect anything either, I cant really explain any more but the mouse cursor also gets duplicated with File Explorer when moving the window.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows Explorer Replacement?

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Windows Explorer

I have Windows 7. Every time I try to open up my external HD the Windows Explorer quits working. I researched a little at this forum and "Wile E" had said

It's AVI files causing the problem. It happens when explorer tries to preview them. You can shut off previewing, and it goes away.

Open a run box, and type this:

regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll

It will prevent Explorer from trying to preview video files.

The post was 5 years old. Does anyone know what command I would give to to shut off previewing? Thankyou
