Windows 10: When I "pin current folder to quick access" i get "a disk error occurred during a read...

HiWhen I press the button"pin current folder to quick access"I get the error message"a disk error occurred during a read operation"I don't have any quick access options on my menu, which is frustrating.I have checked both drives for errors and found none.

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Cannot Pin Folders in Quick Access

I thought I had put this in. I did a SFC but no warnings or errors. This is a new system just installed from scratch.

As I mentioned, if you try and drag a folder onto the Quick Access, the mouse cursor changes to the red circle as below:



It will not allow anything to be dragged onto the Quick Access folder. If you read my original post carefully, this occurs for ALL users. This is not a current user issue.

Therefore, does anyone know how items are pinned to the Quick Access ? Where is it stored in the Registry ???
