Windows 10: when i play games my laptop just completely freezes and i have to hold down the power...

my laptop is a lenovo legion 5IntelR CoreTM i7-10870Hrtx 206016 gb ramwhen i play games the laptop just completely freezes and i have to hold down the power button to shut it down the temps are pretty good tooand the weird thing is sometimes a week will go by and it never crashes and then randomly it non stop crashes every day againit also very rarely happens when im watching youtube or browsing tooive done ram checks and ssd checks and all dont have problems all my drivers are up to date including windows updatesive reinstalled windows ive tried to find solutions for monthsany help would

Laptop completely freezes while playing games


Hi,
after installing windows 10 (clean install) my laptop completely freezes, so far happend only while playing games. This is possibly related to nvidia gpu, because basicaly nothing else uses it. I dont get any error or bsod and nothing in the event log, it just hangs with the "bzzz" sound and i have to restart.
Games a tried playing are heroes of the storm and rocket league, got freezes playing both. Time it takes to freeze is random sometimes 10minutes and sometimes 3 hours.

Can't play Hit It Rich game and system freezes

I can understand how frustrating it would be. This issue might be due to corrupted profile or if the game is not installed completely. I suggest you to follow these steps and let us know if it works.

Could you please help me with the below questions:

• Are you aware of any changes happened on the computer prior to this issue?
  
• Have you tried playing this game on other browser (Google chrome or Mozilla) and check for the issue?
  

Step 1: Uninstall or Repair the game.

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Right click on the Hit it Rich app > Select Repair or uninstall it.
4. Reinstall the application and check for the issue.
   

Step 2: Create a new local account.

The reason might be due to user account corruption, so I would suggest you to ‘Create
a local user or administrator account’ and check if the issue persists.

Note: You will not see all your files under your default file location.
So your data will be saved under C:\Users\User_name.

Laptop goes to sleep when the LID is closed while playing the game.

I realize the inconvenience you are facing in your laptop regarding the sleep mode while playing game. We will help you.

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• Have you connected the external monitor to the Laptop?
• Did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?
• Are you facing this issue specifically when playing the specific Game?
• Are you facing this issue after any recent updates installed?

This issue might have caused due to the power settings for the closing of LID is set to sleep mode.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + X keys and select the Control Panel.
• Select Power options by searching in search box.
• Right side select Change Plan setting next to the power plans.
• Select the Change advanced Power plan settings.
• Under the list select and expand Power buttons and lid.
• Select Turn off the display under the drop down of setting.
• Click Apply. Ok.
• Close the LID and Check if the issue resolves.
