  2. Uploading data from android to pc

    Hi AlaynaHarstine,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

    • Have you tried to connect the Android device to PC using an USB cable?

However, you may follow these steps to check if that helps:

    • Connect the Android device to the PC using a micro USB cable.
    • You can see an ‘AutoPlay popup’ on your PC once your phone is successfully connected and recognized by the computer. Click on the ‘Open folder to view files’ option.
    • Copy and paste the files or folders that you want to recover from your phone's internal memory to your PC.
    • When the steps are done, you can successfully recover and transfer your data from Android phone with broken screen to your PC.

Alternatively, if you have the data saved on an external SD card, then you can plug in the card to the PC to transfer the data. You may need an adaptor to read the SD card on the PC.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Data cable and PC Suite problems!

I'd appreciate any and all help here, I think I've got myself into a complete muddle.

Running Win98SE, using Nokia 6230i, and PC Suite 5.8 (I think that's the latest version I can use).

First the data cable - I have a DKU-2 USB cable but I can't seem to get the computer to 'find' the drivers. If I connect my phone to the data cable, it asks 'Use phone as data storage device' so obviously something's happening, but I don't know what to do next.
The first time I did this, the 'found new hardware' wizard popped up but couldn't find the drivers. I copied them to the hard drive and pointed the wizard there, and I told it to look on the CD, but it still said it couldn't find the drivers. I know I'm doing
    something wrong here but what?

Now to the PC Suite - I had installed PC Suite and it worked fine, except that it couldn't recognise my phone obviously. Then I read somewhere that the data cable drivers need to be installed before PC Suite, so I tried to uninstall it. It won't completely
uninstall. I found all the file/folders relating to it and deleted them manually, but I can't remove it from the add/remove software list. It starts the install shield wizard briefly, looks to the floppy disk drive, and then just stops, and PC Suite is still
in the list! I don't know why it's looking to the floppy drive, as I downloaded it from this Nokia site.

Are these two problems connected? Do I have the wrong cable? The wrong version of PC Suite? Can anyone help me find a way out of this mess? I'm really confused and frustrated, but I do want to use the PC Suite!

Thanks in advance for any help!

E56 screen broken - need help getting number off phone

When you connect your phone to your pc with the usb cable, a list if connection mode options normally appears on your phone display. You need to select "Pc Suite". What you could do is plug in phone to usb, select. If that doesn;t work, disconnect, reconnect
scroll down one and select again. Keep trying until it finally connects to PCSuite. There are only 4-5 options so you won;t have to try that many times.
