Cell phone won't charge using laptop USB port

Hello, I have a Dell Windows 10 laptop, and android 11 cell phone. For a few years, I would charge my cell phone, using a USB cable, on my laptop. But for some reason, my cell phone will not charge on my laptop anymore. I have tried using different laptop ports. But my phone still charges using a portable charger or a wall socket. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you.

The Pixel 4 XL is fairly new, it was just released last year of October.

It won't hurt your battery. I have been using a backup phone for network connection (USB Tethered) and it's usually at full-charge after around less than an hour. I've been doing this for 2 years now.

I have a Google Pixel 4XL phone and I ma often leaving it charging overnight which of course it does what I would like to konow is apart from the 'çost' of doing so will it damage the phones battery.
