    When I receive a sidebar notification while a browser or app is open, why does clicking it...


    When I have a browser or app open on my laptop and receive a sidebar notification from another app, clicking the notification doesn't forefront switch me to that app ; it only changes the icon's color in the taskbar.

    How do you remove gmail notifications from Windows 10 sidebar?

    A week ago, I experimented with Windows 10 Pro notifying me on the sidebar on my desktop when a gmail arrives. It was driving me crazy, so I removed my gmail account from Windows Notifications. But I'm still receiving notifications in spite of my email
    account not appearing on the list of accounts tied to Windows 10 Notifications.

    Have I left out some steps to stopping these notifications?

    Thanks in advance, for any advice you can offer.

    The sidebar is the inbuilt feature of Windows 10 and it cannot be removed, however please use the feedback app to provide us your valuable suggestion.



    Steps to go to feedback app:

    • Go to search tab
    • Type Windows feedback
    • Click the App

    Mail app not receiving notifications

    Hi Dave,

    It seems that the Mail app is not running in the background. To show the app in the "Notifications & Actions" settings page, we suggest running it in the background. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + i to open Settings, then select
      Privacy      .
    • In the left pane, select Background apps.
    • Under Let apps run in the background, toggle the switch to turn on or off the background apps.
    • Once you're done, you may now turn on the Mail app in the "Notifications & Actions" settings page to get notifications.

    Feel free to post back with the result for further assistance.
