Windows 10: When I send request to a contact I do not recieve request from so contacts

When I send request to some contacts, not all, I do not recieve what was requested

Request to add contact, but contact person did not send request.

I received a request to add a contact yet the contact said he did not send a request. Is this some sort of virus? when I look into the info in Skype I see the following as the message from the requestor:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Unsolicited contact request...Possible spammer's path


Same issue as OP. Unsolicited Skype contact requests keep coming through on the Desktop from strangers, despite privacy settings set high.





The Skype Video app gives very little in the way of settings, so have to go to the website settings instead. They're presumably not doing it through the email address, as it's set to private. There isn't a phone number there, so presumably not that. Therefore, according to the Outlook.com page, that leaves the profile page. But all the profile fields are empty except for the first name. I can only think they're typing random first names and sending requests that way?

 

Contact names in contact list

I have a list of contacts in my outlook.live account that are listed in numerical order by office number, e.g. “101 Larry” “Smith” is the first and last name for Larry Smith in office 101. This method has always resulted in a perfectly numerically ordered contact list, until recently. Now, when I add Larry to my contact list, Outlook only shows Larry’s email address, no name, no office number. Any help / suggestions would be so greatly appreciated. I’ve tried using customer support before, not looking forward to that ordeal again.
