Windows 10: When I set up Phone link from Desk Top to link with iPhone I cannot set "show...

When I do the initial pairing of my iPhone to my Desktop computer and I get to the screen that says "You are almost there." and I need to enable on my iPhone id o see on my iPhone the "Share System Notifications" toggle, but I do not see the toggles for "Show Notifications" nor "Sync contacts."If I proceed to the Phone Link app on my Desk Top, it shows "connected" in the upper left and I see notification before that. But on the right side, I get a yellow box with the statement: "we are experiencing issues connecting to your device" and an image of a woman with the words below "We weren't abl

Phone Link not showing Contact Names....again

I was able to fix this on my computer by following these steps:

1. In the Phone Link app on PC, go to Settings, click the My Devices tab, and use the ellipsis (...) menu on your device to remove it, then close the app.
   
2. On your phone (mine is an Android), go to Settings, Apps, Link to Windows, Open, then remove your PC from the Linked Computers section.
   
3. Restart your phone.
   
4. Re-link the phone and PC by restarting the Phone Link app on your PC and following the step to add your device.
   
5. Perhaps this is the critical thing, but I noticed in the Link to Windows app on Android, there is a toggle to "Sync contacts" under the list of Linked Computers, which was disabled for me. Turn this on.
   

Contacts are showing up again for me now - yay!

 

iPhone Link Problem

The Phone Link for iPhone is still a very new feature currently available for the Insider community only. There are some known issues related to messaging. You can see if yours might apply to any of these:

Phone Link does not support creating or replying to a group message, or sending or receiving media in messages

Phone Link will not receive the first message from a new recipient in Messages

Phone Link does not support sending images, GIFs, or Memojis

Phone Link cannot show messages if the iPhone’s messages settings are set to not Always “show preview”

Phone Link will not display message conversation history if during use of the app the Bluetooth session disconnects

If your scenario doesn't fit any of the above, please submit a feedback via Feedback Hub (Windows + F key combo). On Step #2 in Feedback Hub, select “Apps” ->” Phone Link” and on step #4 try to recreate the problem and attach relevant screenshots and/or videos.

Can't "Link to Wndows"

Thanks so much. I will certainly follow your tutorial in the future. I think resetting did the trick, and I was also able to set a pin code.

Question. I am confused about one ongoing step: "Go to www.aka.ms/addComputer" in your browser." A search for this, and other similar url's suggested in the Phone LInk setup always ends up the same way, with a trip to nowhere.
