    Applications opening too small

Certain applications, including (but not limited to) Photoshop open far too small making them unusable.

Note that it is only the application opening too small, the other items on the desktop seem fine. Resolution is set to 3200 x 1800 and I've experimented with different resolutions without success.

  4. When I start applications they always open in small or minimized screen.

How can I disable automatic screen minimizing when the application is in full-screen mode and navigated to another application?

    Hi, Vu Mai Quynh Loan

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

In Windows, when you switch from a full-screen application to another application, the full-screen application may get minimized automatically to make space for the new application. This behavior is by design in most operating systems, including Windows, to facilitate multitasking and ensure a smooth user experience.

While this behavior is standard and regulated by Microsoft, there are ways to prevent automatic screen minimizing when switching between applications in full-screen mode. Here are a couple of suggestions you can try to disable this feature:

    1. Borderless Windowed Mode: Some applications offer a "borderless windowed" or "fullscreen windowed" mode as an alternative to traditional full-screen mode. This mode provides the appearance of full-screen while allowing seamless alt-tabbing or switching between applications without minimizing the window. Check if the application you are using supports this mode and enable it if available.
    2. Third-Party Tools: There are third-party tools and utilities available that may help prevent automatic minimization of full-screen applications when switching between them. Those tools can force games or applications into borderless windowed mode, allowing for easier multitasking without automatic minimizing. You can search for yourself to find out.
    3. Check Application Settings: Some applications have settings that allow you to control how they behave in full-screen mode. Look through the application's settings or options menu to see if there is an option to prevent automatic minimizing when switching to another application.
    4. Keyboard Shortcuts: You can use keyboard shortcuts like Alt+Tab to switch between applications quickly without minimizing the full-screen application. This way, you can manually control which application is in focus without triggering automatic minimizing.
While these methods may help you customize your experience when using full-screen applications, please note that overriding the default behavior may vary depending on the specific application and its compatibility with Windows settings. Experiment with these suggestions to see if they meet your needs for multitasking without automatic screen minimizing.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
