Windows 7 Home Premium activation, says I have invalid product key

I am having trouble with Windows 7 activation, it says I have invalid product key but I have my own copy of Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack 3x "upgrade" that is good for 3 computers. I have it on 2 computers, my 3rd computer crashed and I bought a new
motherboard and I am trying to activate Windows 7 Home Premium on it with a fresh installation. It is telling me that I have an invalid product key when I try to activate it using the installation DVD. usually I can get assistance with this over the phone
but they said they cant because Windows 7 isn't supported. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium activation key for 3x computers. No I don't want Windows 10, I want to activate my paid copy of Windows 7 Home Premium.

Edit: I skipped ahead and tried to "activate windows now" in Computer properties and got 0xC004F061 error code for when I tried activate windows 7. It says for the error code description that "The Software Licensing Service determined that this specified
product key can only be used for upgrading, not clean installations." But I have been able to do clean installs with it in the past. Please help.

Edit: I have the 3 or more copies of Windows XP Home Premium and even some copies of Windows XP Professional if I ABSOLUTELY have to install them first, and then upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium, but I have always been able to do a clean install with either
no issues or I had to call Microsoft tech support and have them do something on my PC to get it to work because I have had a crashed motherboard in the past that made me have to get a new one and reinstall just like this time. But now that Windows 7 isn't
supported they just told me that they don't have the tools in front of them to help me anymore since it's no longer supported and told me to post my question here...

 

Windows 7 Home Premium Product Key

I purchased a refurbished computer some years ago and requested that it had Windows 7.

I want to upgrade to Windows 10 but I can't because Windows 7 Home Premium has not been activated.

I have have clicked the 'Activate Now' option but it says that the activation key cannot be used to activate Windows 7. The product key showing is an OEM key.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a product key so I can activate Windows 7 and upgrade to 10?

They should not be telling you to post here about activation problems.

We don't work for Microsoft.

Microsoft are the ones who say Yes or No to activation.

It has told you what the error is, but you have done a clean install with an upgrade license before.

Microsoft may have decided to put an end to what you were doing; but it is a standard error message to get when you do what you did.

Either follow the upgrade path of what your license is for or keep contacting Microsoft until someone will help you.
