Windows 10: When i try to launch windows sandbox after 6 minutes of trying to launch it pops up with an...

The container manager service or one of its dependencies is not running.Error 0x8007041d. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Issue: Disk Management [diskmgmt.msc] takes 6 minutes to launch, with message "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service..."

Environment --

Windows 10 Professional version 1709 [10.0.16299.19]

Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB, Free Space 372 GB

8GB RAM

Intel Core i5 CPU M480, 2 Cores, 4 Logical Processors

BIOS Dell Inc. A11 [most recent]

Dell Inspiron N7010 Laptop PC

Steps taken --

chkdsk /f -- no errors

sfc /scannow -- no errors

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth -- successful

Samsung Magician [disk utility] reports "Drive Condition Good"

SSDLife [disk utility] reports "Estimated T.E.C. date September 20, 2026"

Steps NOT taken --

Reimage the computer

So, I'm thinking it's a driver issue. Any thoughts?

Settings won't launch

If you're having issue launching Settings from Start menu, we highly suggest performing the troubleshooting steps posted by Rohit Siddegowda in this
thread. Lots of Community user found his suggestions helpful.

Windows 10 Professional, UAC pops up whenever I launch almost any app

After the last Windows 10 updates, UAC pops up almost whatever application gets launched, e.g. Photoshop. How can I tackle this? In settings UAC is set to one step just before completely disabling it.
