Windows 10: When I try to write with the japanese layout, my keyboard switchs back to US layout, how...

I have been trying to fix this problems for a long time, I have tried to change the input settings but it doesn't work, I have re-installed the japanese language 3 times and it doesn't work, my computer doesn't send me any error message, it just switches to the US layout, how can I fix that problem?My OS build is 19045.3448 and I have microsft 10.

Can't change keyboard layout to japanese

Hello,

I have a problem switching my keyboard layout from French (main language of my PC) to Japanese. When I try to switch by directly clicking in the taskbar or using keyboard shortcuts, the language does not change at all and stays on French.

Important notes:

- I have recently transferred my operating system from windows 10 to windows 11. The Japanese layout used to work on windows 10

- I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the Japanese layout multiple times.

- I have tampered with the Registry Editor because I was trying to change the layout from qwerty to azerty when using the Japanese keyboard (Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layouts0000411\), and I wonder if this could have caused the problem, or if it is simply linked to the switch from Windows 10 to 11.

Japanese IME with German QWERTZ-Layout

I am using Windows 10.

Being german, my keyboard has the german QWERTZ layout.

I want to write in Japanese, so I am using Microsoft-IME.

I can set the Hardware Keyboard to english or japanese layout, but there is no other layout available.

I don't see the reason why microsoft excluded every other existing layout.

I tried using third-party IME, but those use the same configuration as Microsoft-IME.

How can I set the hardware keyboard layout to standard german QWERTZ (or any other layout)?

I can set the layout for other languages freely, why not for japanese?

 

Keyboard Layout

Hello, so I've been using the Japanese IME keyboard for a long time but I only just ran into a problem last night.

I use the English layout since it is a lot easier for me to type in but somehow I've managed to switch to the Japanese keyboard layout on my actual keyboard.

In settings the layout is still set as the English layout, and when I use my touch screen keyboard it is also still on the English layout, but when I type with my actual keyboard instead of typing for example "ka" on the English layout, which would appear
with か, the Japanese layout comes out as のち when I type k and a because it isn't in the English format anymore and I can not seem to change it back.

So I am not sure if it is a setting on my actual keyboard or if somethings gone wrong.
