Windows 10: When I turn on my computer, I get a blue screen with Bad System Config Info error and it...

I've tired turning it off and on repeatedly to get to the system repair screen but that doesn't work, so I'm stuck in it just keep restarting and going back to this blue screen. The screen says: "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you." Stop code is BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that advice. I moved some programs from the c dive to the d drive using your notepad tip. So I've freed up 97gb in the c drive but I'm still getting the blue screen with BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO error when I try to start up. I do think the full c drive was the start of the problem. Have you any 9ther suggestions for how I could tackle the blue screen problem.

The error Bad System Config means that something is wrong with the registry on your PC and you'll need to return to a previous configuration. It would be great, if you can help us with the details requested below:

• When do you get the error message?
  
• Does the computer boot to the Desktop?
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the article
Error 0x74: Bad_system_config_info and see if that helps.



Note: The last step in the above article talks about performing a reset on the computer. Resetting the computer will delete all the files and applications from the computer. Do not perform reset on your computer.

Bad system config info

I keep getting a “bad system config info” error on my screen. It’s a blue screen error. I tried doing a bcdedit delete value and the path is an error. How do I fix this?
