When I turn on my windows 11 pc it shows different pictures every day on the desktop and asks if I like it or not and when I click on it the picture disappears and my hello login pops up, now the picture is there for a few second and disappears and then the screen turns black with the day and time. What happened to make the pictures not stay until I click on them?

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Personalize desktop with pictures taken and stored within My Pictures

Try the below steps and check if it helps.

I suggest you to create a new folder, copy pictures whichever you want to set as desktop background and paste in new folder.

Now browse and select this folder to set as desktop background. Follow the below steps:

• Right click on desktop and select Personalize.
• Under background select Slideshow.
• Now browse for the folder which you created.
• Turn on Shuffle.

Windows 11 No picture display on Lock Screen and Virtual desktop taskbar

This morning I was trying different desktop themes, I don't remember what I set last, but now I have the following problems:

1. The lock screen doesn't show a picture. It's just black with normal log on stuff.
   
2. On the taskbar when I mouse over the Virtual Desktop button, the desktops are black.
   
3. When I open one of the desktops (I have two set up) and set it's background picture, it sets both desktops to that picture. They also don't show in the Virtual Desktop buttons.
   

How do I fix this?
