Windows 10: when I type anything in in any window on my computer..no letters show up ..have to click...

when I first go on my computer to type in my password....the letters don't show up.on the screen...its a Dell computer Microsoft edge, 64 bit I think....I had reset it but it wiped out other things I had in it. and made it worse.........and never fixed the problem........I have to use the onscreen keyboard which is ok in the beginning but for anything else its a nuisance and its just not working....


. . otherwise in a nutshell. there are no letters showing up when I type on the keyboard on my screen and have went on the keyboard section to fix but it isn't providing any help with it...any suggestions would be helpful.....I try to use the Cortana thing....but it ask me to sign in which I cant cant type anything in.at all.... thanks S Lind..

help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

 

Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:





Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

Suggestions on how to fix this?

• Where are you trying to type a letter?
• Which application or program are you using to type the letter?

I suggest you to use WordPad or notepad for type the letter or any documents or else please do let us know what exactly you are trying to do? Which application are you looking for typing the letter?
