    When I type "photo" in windows search, paint is placed above photoshop for some reason


    Is there a way to prevent this behaviour? I always type the name of whichever program I want to start and this issue has in aggregate caused me a lot of grievance over the last few years.

    This also goes for typing "ph", "pho", "phot" and "photos". When I type "photosh" paint dissapears, but that seems like a lot of specificity to avoid a program I never use when photoshop is started about 10 times a week.

    Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

    Hello,

    It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
    Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

    • On the Start menu, select Settings.
    • Go to System, then go to Default apps.
    • Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
      Photo viewer.

    Windows 10 default image viewer

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps in order to change the default image viewer to Paint.

    • In search,
    • Type Default Programs.
    • Check whether Windows Photo Viewer is listed in the list.
    • Left click on the photo viewer and select the option paint.

    Paint 3D Cannot Place a Model

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    I understand your query related to not being able to place a model in Paint 3D. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.



    1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
    2. Do you receive any error message when you try to add a model?
    3. What is the version of Paint 3D app?
    4. Are you connected to domain environment?
    5. Which model are you trying to place on the canvas?


    Meanwhile, I would suggest you follow the suggestions mentioned below and see if that helps.



    Method 1:



    Try resetting the app and see if that helps.



    1. Press Windows + I keys together to open
      Settings
    2. Now click on Apps and select
      Apps & features
    3. Search for Paint 3D app and click on it
    4. Now click on Advanced options
    5. Scroll down and click on Reset


    Method 2:



    Try re-installing Paint 3D app and see if that helps.



    1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on
      Windows PowerShell (Admin)
    2. Accept the UAC prompts
    3. Now type in the following command and hit
      Enter      :

      Get-AppxPackage *Microsoft.MSPaint* | Remove-AppxPackage
    4. Restart the PC


    After restarting the PC, download the app from
    Microsoft Store     and see if that works
