Recently, I have been casting to my laptop as a wireless display while I use my pc, and although it connects with no issue, once I have any sort of moving part on the laptop, the screen starts stuttering, tearing, and often to the point where I have to disconnect from the wireless display. I have the latest graphics drivers installed, and the NVIDIA control panel says my graphics card is HDCP capable, so what's the issue?

The three options are greyed out because the optional Wireless Display feature is not installed on this PC.

When you click the 'Optional features' link on that page you don't see Wireless Display in the list because it's not installed by default. You have to click on '+ Add a feature' in order to install it. It should be available to install on any PC, regardless of whether it is capable of supporting Miracast.

Windows 10 has a feature that allows wireless transmission of media content from a PC or any other compatible devices by casting it on your wireless monitor.

If your computer and monitor are compatible with each other, it will be easier to connect them since they are plug and play ready and can be connected directly using only an
HDMI cable. To have a better grip on your concerns with extended displays, we’d like to know the following:

• Which version or build of Windows device are you using? To know, press
  Windows + R to open the Run window. Type winver
  and press Enter. A new window will open showing the version and build number of your Windows device.
• What is the make and model of your computer that doesn't connect?
• What is the brand and model of your wireless monitor?
• Do you have a dongle that allows display casting/mirroring (for wireless connection)?
• Do you have an HDMI cable/port?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• What is the range between your wireless monitor and the computer?

In addition, we’d like to check if you already tried using the Project in the
Action Center? You can do this by pressing Windows + P.

The Project allows casting of multimedia contents from a computer to a wireless monitor.





Make sure that you set your casting settings to Duplicate or Second screen only.
