Can you share the complete error message given by Hyper-V or a screenshot of that?

You can start troubleshooting by following these steps:

1. Check the virtual hard disk's size and available space. You can do this by opening the virtual machine's settings and navigating to the virtual hard disk section. If the virtual hard disk is full or nearly full, you may need to resize it or delete unnecessary files within the virtual machine.



2. Check the host machine's available disk space. Even if you have enough space on your laptop, the virtual machine may be configured to use a specific amount of space on your hard drive. If your host machine is running low on disk space, this could prevent the virtual machine from starting.



3. Check the virtual machine's configuration settings. Make sure that the virtual machine is configured to use the correct virtual hard disk and that the virtual hard disk is attached to the virtual machine.

Also try moving the virtual disk if your virtual machine to another volume on your Hyper-V host and see if you still get the same error.

 

Unable to start Virtual Machine, Error message: "Validation" Failed to start.

Hi,

This errors started when a windows10 update was pushed to my windows7 laptop. I had two vms working great in windows7 now both generate the same error. yesterday i downloaded a win10 vm and it starts with the
same error. i notice when any of the vms try to start they get to a status of 10% started and fail. I have tried all the suggestions in other posts; dvd, memory, network adapter, nothing clears this error. starting vmconnect in power shell started as administrator
results in the same error. this seems like a permission problem but hard to figure out.
