Windows 10: When I'm trying to download/update/install a game my internet is not usable at all and the...

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but a few days ago I started having this problem. I opened Epic Games launcher to update a game and the download was stuck. When I wanted to google it on google the internet was so slow it wasn't usable at all. Only after I closed Epic from the task manager my internet came back to normal. But this isn't an problem from Epic Games. Today I wanted to download Valorant and after getting the "Install Valorant.exe" it had the same problem. The download was stuck and my browser wasn't usable at all unless I stopped the download. I've never encountered this problem before and I've been using the same router for 3 years now so I don't think it's my internet. My brother can download anything on his windows just fine. Any help?

Please try the steps given below and check if the issue persists:

Step 1:

I suggest you to right click on the game and try to run as administrator and check.

Step 2: if that doesn't help I suggest you to install game in compatibility mode and check:

Follow the steps below on how to install game in compatibility mode:

1. Download the game from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the game and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the game install and then check the functionality.

Internet Downloads

Thanks all for the useful suggestions, i certainly can understand the idea of refreshing downloads. I wish Firefox had that little button lol. Now i'll try and download Warrock (a great FREE game) with download manager though (annoyingly) firefox is now downloading without buggering up!
I just did a few spyware scans which though didn't stop the probs it probably did stop all thoses bloody programs from using the internet and slowing it down.

If you are trying to install the game from the store then try the below methods and check if it works,

Method 1:
Reset the Windows store

I would suggest you reset the Windows app store and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

• Press Windows Key + R.
• Type, "WSReset.exe" and hit enter.

If you are trying to download from the website I would suggest you to disable proxy and then try to download that particular game,

Method 2: Disable Proxy connection, if any.

If you are using any Proxy connection, then try disabling the proxy connection and check.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

• Click the Settings icon at the top right corner in internet explorer.
  
• Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
  
• Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.
  
• Uncheck the box next to "proxy server for your LAN".
