Windows 10: When installing new programs to Windows 10, can I choose for only the application shortcut...

For example, I've installed Gigabyte's RGB Fusion. Whenever I want to find this, I want to just find RGB Fusion, not have to open the Aorus folder that the shortcut appears inside on the Start Menu all programs list.

Can I remove all folders from the Start Menu list quickly and easily? Can I prevent programs creating folders on install?

Keyboard shortcuts to open programs:

Create a shortcut on the desktop to whatever program you want. Right click -> Properties and fill in the field there. Sadly the shortcut needs to remain on the desktop, but you can hide it.

Fun fact: If you had keyboard shortcuts for programs pinned to your Windows 7 start menu, those shortcuts still work when you update to Windows 10.

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
