When is a fix planned to correct the restrictive taskbar/system tray in Windows 11?

To accommodate and provide end-user usability, the functionality should be restored enabling positioning along the right and left sides. This optimizes and accommodates screen geometry, which is restricted in the y-axis.Auto-hiding does not resolve the issue, as users enjoy visual access to the bar/tray.

  2. Taskbar Tray icon not showing

Always a good idea to read Blog posts for the known issues.

    • [NEW] After upgrading to Build 22610, the “Show hidden icons” flyout in the system tray may disappear completely for some Insiders, even though it shows as “on” under Settings > Personalization > Taskbar and “Other system tray icons”. We are investigating the issue. As a workaround if you need access to the icons that would show in the “Show hidden icons” flyout, you can go right-click on taskbar to open the Taskbar settings page, navigate to the “Other system tray icons” and individuals toggle specific apps to “On” until the issue is resolved.

It would be fixed in the future.

Lost clock and calendar from system tray after update on September 25, 2016

    Hi,

There are several reasons why this issue happens. To help you resolve this concern, we suggest that you adjust the height of the system tray. Kindly follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the system tray.
    • Make sure that the Lock all taskbars
      option is unchecked.
    • Try positioning your cursor at the top edge of the system tray until you see a vertical line with arrows at both tips.
    • Hold the left mouse button down and drag the edge of the system tray upward to expand it.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
