Windows 10: When is Microsoft going to solve the Winsock problem

The Internet shows this is an ongoing problem with Windows including Windows 11.The many solutions offered fail to correct this problem. One is faced with numerous Winsock resets to maintain fast internet connection.

As the above troubleshooting steps couldn't resolve the issue, I suggest you to try the below workaround and check if it helps.

Step 1: Try to clear the DNS cache.

• Click Start, and then type
  cmd in the Start Search box.
• Right-click cmd in the
  Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click
  Continue.
• At the command prompt, type the following line, and then press ENTER:

ipconfig /flushdns

This usually clears up any issues that might be occurring.

Step 2: Perform a Winsock Reset

• Open the Windows Start Screen or
  Start Menu and type cmd in the search box.
• Right-click Command Prompt or
  cmd in the search results and select Run as Administrator.
• Type netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt window and press
  Enter. Wait for Windows to finish resetting your Winsock configuration.
• Reboot your computer.

This issue can occur from corrupted system files, memory usage, unnecessary programs running on the background, and malware infection.

As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and see if the issue will persist:

• Go to Control Panel.
• In the search box, type Troubleshooting.
• Click Troubleshooting.
• Select Hardware and Sounds.
• Click Hardware and Devices.
• Hit Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
