Windows 10: When my computer either wakes up from sleep, or when the IP address is automatically...

Any help would be appreciated.So, the problem.....When my computer goes to sleep, and then wakes up, it has lost its connection to the internet. What I have found happening is this:When everything is working well, then the IP address for my computer, which is connected to a switch, which then goes to my cable modem, is something like 192.168.0.101. However, upon waking back up, the IP address is now 192.168.1.101, and subsequently shows an Unidentified Network in the Network Connections tab.So, if I go to the network adapter properties, and click on the IPv4 property, I will switch from automa

Finding IP address

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

This problem usually sorts itself out automatically, but see the following for some suggestions:

If you keep getting these notifications, chances are that some device on your network is configured to use a static IP address that is within the range of addresses allocated by your router's DHCP server.

If you need some help in sorting out a situation like this, please provide the following information:

• the make and specific model of your router
• the make and specific model of every device connected to your network, including printers, TV set top boxes, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, etc.

If you have many devices connected to your network, download and run Advanced IP scanner (Advanced IP Scanner - Download Free Network Scanner). This will list all of your currently-connected
network devices and show their IP addresses.

 

Computer wakes from sleep automatically every night

I appreciate your effort on this and thank you for providing the all information. I understand that the PC wakes up automatically when you put the computer to sleep mode.



As per the description it could be that the task is set to wake up the computer when it gets triggered, we can change the settings from Task Scheduler and see if that resolves it.



Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type taskschd.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, expand Task Scheduler Library and navigate to
   Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator
   
4. On the right pane double click on Universal Orchestrator Start and click
   Conditions tab.
   
5. Clear the checkbox for Wake the computer to run this task.
   
6. Click on OK.
   

This should not wake the computer automatically after you put the computer to sleep.
