Windows 10: When my notebook wakes up from sleep, all the the sizes and positions of my windows keep...

I have an HP Elitebook 1030 G3, but this nuisance also occurs on my other Acer laptop.


I usually partition my screen into to 2 or 3, and may have up to 10 opened apps that were snapped for convenience. But I have to do it all over again everytime I wake my notebook from sleep or hibernation. I've been dealing with this for more than 3 years, and on the long run it's really bothersome.


I've tried looking up a solution several times on the web but I can't seem to find a good one yet. Any advice will be tremendously appreciated...

I see that the ASUS 56C notebook won’t wake after sleep mode. This might be due to the corruption of Power management.

I suggest you to try running the Power Troubleshooter to check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1: Run the Power troubleshooter on the system.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Power troubleshooter

Method 2:

I suggest you to update the display drivers on your computer and check if it helps. Refer the below steps to update the driver.

1.
Press “Windows + X” and select Device manager.

2.
Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.

3.
Right click on the driver icon and click on
Update.

4.
Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.

5.
Restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

Notebook won't wake from sleep

I have an ASUS 56C notebook and it won't wake after sleep mode.

The lights remain on but not the screen.

I have tried to extend the time before it sleeps but haven't resolved the problem.

Could it be the video drivers?
