    When opening Virus & Threat Protection, it says I need to get with my IT Administrator. I am on windows 11 and I have tried the followingWhen opening Virus & Threat Protection, it says I need to get with my IT Administrator :press the Windows key + R, type gpedit.msc, and click OK to launch the Group Policy Editor.2. Navigate to the path below in the left pane: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Microsoft Defender Antivirus3. Double-click the Allow antimalware service to startup with normal priority.4. Set this policy to Disabled and click Apply and OK to save changes.5. Now, double-click the Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus.

    Cannot open Virus and threat protection on windows. Limited access by IT Administrator

    I cannot open Virus and threat protection on windows. It says your IT Administrator has limited access to some of the features of this app. What must be done to activate it?

    Virus & Threat Protection

    Hello,

    If you've third-party AV installed, uninstall it completely and see if that helps.

    Then open Group Policy snap-in by running gpedit.msc command.

    Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Defender Security Center > Virus and threat protection.

    Set 'Hide the Virus and threat protection area' setting to Not Configured.

    Virus and Threat Protection Issue

    When looking to run a virus scan on my computer, I'm met with an error that says "Virus and Threat Protection is Managed by your Organization." THis is a personal laptop though. Any suggestions?
