Screen starts to flicker after logging in for a while

Hello

This is an entirely new issue. My screen starts to flicker after logging in/turning on computer for a while, and/or if I launch an app that uses my Nvidia card (my laptop has Optimus), I'm not exactly sure which of these two causes it. For the first while after a restart, the screen appears fine. The flickering appears on desktop background + internet browser as well, so I'm pretty sure it's not a program compatibility issue. The flickering is not severe (the type that looks like horizontal bars sliding up) but it's an annoyance.

Tried:

• Disabling Windows error reporting + problem reporting service in msconfig
• Restart computer
• Resetting Nvidia global settings to default in Nvidia control panel
• Checking for display drive updates in device manager (all up to date)
• Checking monitor refresh rate (60Hz, can't be changed)

Laptop I'm using:

• i7-4700MQ 2.4GHz
• 1900x1080
• Intel HD 4600 + Nvidia GT750M

Weird freeze, pink screen?

I recently purchased a PNY 8800GTS 512mb and so far it was been awesome. BUT. On startup I will start my browser or something after windows finishes loading and I will see the screen sort of flicker with a pink tint to it. It will be fine for a few minutes and then all of sudden my screen will turn solid neon pink and freeze up. Strangely enough, my mouse still works and shows up fine on top of the pink screen?

What gives?

1. What is the make and model number of your computer?
   
2. Have you connected any external monitors to the computer?
   

To narrow down the issue, I suggest you to try connecting another monitor as well as another monitor cable and check if the issue persists.

Method 2:
Changing The Screen Refresh Rate.

1. Right-click on an empty area on your desktop > Click on
   Display settings > On the right-pane, scroll down and click on
   Advanced display settings.
2. Click on the Display adapter properties for Display 1 > In the next window, go to
   Monitor tab > Under Screen refresh rate drop-down menu, try changing the desired Hertz rate.
3. Restart the computer after changing each rate and check if the issue persists.
