Windows 10: When running into nvlddmkm Error Event ID 13 - try this

When I ran into this issue about two weeks back, out of nowhere, what I came to a conclusion wasn't really found anywhere on the internet. As you know error nvlddmkm Event ID 13 from Windows Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System is due to a graphics issue, things can happen such as artifacts in your screen before crashing which was exactly my case, or other issues. Throughout the issue on the internet, people state to uninstall your graphics driver using the Display Driver Uninstaller software DDU fromThe Guru of 3D, edit a settings in your Nvidia settings, and much more which didn't help at all. And it seems people still never found the answer to their issue.


I'm not sure the complete answer is what I'm about to state, because reading online of all the people that ran into this issue theirs was different each time, but from my experience, and what I found out, was this:


What would happen is out of nowhere I would get artifacts from either full screening a program, such as Firefox, or Steam, min/max a program, and even starting a game. And my computer would freeze for a moment, then restart. Kept doing it. Thought maybe because of a recent install of a software, or a change of settings to a software, so I reverted back. Still happened. What the issue was, was my surge protector wasn't getting enough power to the PC. So when such a program started and higher power usage, it would crash my graphics card. Turns out I had too many plugs from all my monitors and the various other things I use around my workstation for the power. What I did was put all the monitors on a separate surge protector and on a separate plug altogether. And bam, no more errors, or crashes.


Honestly not sure how it happened, because finding out that it was because of power draw, I didn't add anything in nearly two months when I modified my station back then. Maybe because of degradation to the surge unit? Who knows.


TL;DR See if you have too much power being used from lots of plugs from devices on your surge protector, and use less devices on the surge protector, or split them up on a different surge protector on a different plug or put monitors only on their own surge protector That fixed my issue.


Anyway, hope this niche info can help others that run into this issue.

The following event are observed in the event log. I uninstalled nVidia 431.60 and let Windows 10 find the appropriate driver. The error appears less frequently but it's still there. What could be done to fix it?

nvlddmkm errors event id 13 and 14 when activating drivers after clean install

I've had a very frustrating bug for a bit. I've tried to troubleshoot and can't seem to resolve this. I've got it narrowed down to the graphics card drivers. I have the newest Nvidia drivers. I've booted in Safe Mode, deleted the device in Device Manager,
restarted, reinstalled newest drivers. System works fine when I only have Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 active (I've got an Optimus system). But as soon as I activate my 970M card, I get errors 13 and 14 from nvlddmkm.

I haven't messed with the system at all since clean OS reinstall about two months ago. I've got the Asus GL502VT system with no overclocking/custom tuning.

Event ID 13 occured at time of reoccuring crash. Need help fixing.

I'm facing black screen crashes regularly, and this most recent one came during a game, just after I "Reset" Windows 10 without keeping any original system contents. Essentially a fresh installation of Windows 10, almost.

Event Viewer logged the error at time of crash, Event ID 13, 30 times at the exact moment it occured, and the error description reads identical every time in the general tab, with one variation being under \Device\Video3.

Here's what the two Error descriptions state under General, 1 after another 30 times:

How can I fix this and what is causing it?
