Windows 10: When selecting text in Outlook, the wrong cursor location is used.

The cursor is automatically selecting the new line character. When I move the selection to the left to de-select the new line character, since obviously I don't want to copy the new line character. But it simply does not place the cursor at the end of the line, the selection only changes when I move the cursor past the last character, and then that character is no longer included in the selection!The same thing happens if I start the selection on the right or left side.It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes, I'm able to adjust the cursor to the right position.

vb.net select text from active cursor point in different window

hello all - working on a dictation application and looking for some guidance as far as selecting text from a cursor point in a window outside of the applications form. I'll clarify a bit: The application types at the current cursor point using sendkeys() as you speak.. and I'm trying to handle commands such as "select word" which should select the word to the right of the current cursor point. I know how to handle selecting text within an application, but am looking to be pointed in the right direction for information on selecting text from say microsoft word etc. but keep in mind the goal for the application is to be universal for use within any EMR, word processor, web browser etc.

Text selection is one character to the right of the cursor location

The location of my cursor on screen doesn't line up with the location in text where the cursor is inserted. The actual insertion point is about one character to the right of the location of the cursor. For example if I click between the c and u in "cursor"
and drag to the right, I end up selecting only "rsor."

Just started happening today. Not aware any major changes to my system. Restarting does not resolve. I've tested in Word, Word Pad, web pages, and Excel. The behavior is consistent.

My system is Windows 10 on a dell 7000 series inspiron with external monitors and a wireless Microsoft Comfort 5050 mouse and keyboard.

 

my pc location is showing the wrong location

I have the same issue. it lists our location at our old house we left 3 months ago.

it's fine using our phones (which have internal GPS), but all our PC's are showing the wrong location.

we have 1 on windows 10 and 1 on windows 11, both are wrong.

they are wrong in edge and chrome.

they are wrong in the weather apps and anything which uses the location.

I have followed the common steps of setting the location, of refreshing dns, or ip, I've changed all entries to location I can find.

even on websites to try to find a local branch, it suggests them near our old house.

Have just spent an hour on the phone with our ISP (EE) who have nothing more to suggest!
