    Hello all,
Not sure if there is anything I can do about this, but I figured it was worth a try, just in case.

I always have my taskbar at the top of the desktop and set to locked. Often times, particularly if I restart, but seemingly randomly throughout use between restarts, window title bars will no longer respect the position of the taskbar unless I unlock it, move it to the bottom, then move it to the top again. Then all of the current windows will reposition themselves to their proper maximum height.

If anyone happens to know of a fix or anything to try, I would definitely not mind hearing what you have.

    Thanks,

Taskbar at top of screen - Some apps' title-bars open UNDERNEATH

I only get it with apps that were previously using the space the taskbar was going to use before it was moved to the top. For example with HWMonitor put it to the top of screen when task bar is at bottom:

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

Close app and then move taskbar to top

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

Open HWMonitor and it remembers its old position (the top is hidden under the taskbar)

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

Resize (here I just made it narrower) and the top jumps so it is no longer under the taskbar and will not go under it again.

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

So perhaps moving the taskbar like you are is perpetuating the problem.

Try making your app not full screen and in the middle of the screen. Close it then move taskbar to top. Then open your app again.

Interestingly the taskbar properties box goes over the taskbar if taskbar is at the top and under it if the taskbar is at the bottom but that is another story...

Taskbar at top of screen - Some apps' title-bars open UNDERNEATH

    Hi guys,

I was tweaking to get the best results, because I wanted my Windows 10 to be more like my macOS desktop too. This is what I got:

    1. Arrangements of my 3-monitor setup:

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

    2. The looks in a 3-screen capture:

    - left top = Windows 10 in VM
    - right top and bottom = macOS 10.10.5

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

    3. Tweak for applications that won't auto adjust to the taskbar position at the top. Manually set this (only needed
    once)

When taskbar is at the top of the screen, window title bars do not respect it's position... [IMG]

    Cheers

    John:

Can you see from the attached screen-snips what I am talking about? I don't know how I could have been more clear in my description. I have my Windows 10 taskbar at the top of the screen. There are some programs (or 'apps') that I open (not all of them) that open with their 'title-bar' hidden behind the taskbar, and the only thing I can do is move the taskbar out of the way so I can interact with the title-bar to move the window or click the exit, minimize, or resize buttons. - It has nothing to do with 'modern apps', and I'm not asking how to move my taskbar to the top of the screen, it's already there.

If you know about this singular issue, then I would appreciate your reply; otherwise...

    Thanks.

PS, - I've been in the Windows 10 Insider Program for well over a year, and have complained about this several times to no avail. I'm hoping there might be a 'space-age wiz kid' out there who may be aware of a registry tweak or perhaps a Power Shell command that would deal with this. Thanks again...
