    I looked at the answers related to the One drive and Windows 11 issues. After 5 years, the error 0x 8007016A the cloud provider is not running has not been solved yet. It creates a lot of troubles for the normal user. I bought a new computer which mandatory came with this junk named Windows 11. It fetched the files from the previous Windows 10 computer through the One cloud I do not know exactly, as I want to stay just a user and Windows 11 does what it wants, and now some of them could be open, some not and the reason is the specified error. I did not sync any, Windows 11 knows what it di

    To fix the error 0x8007016A "The Cloud File provider is not running" in 2023, you can try the following steps:



    1. Check if the "Cloud Files" feature is enabled in your OneDrive settings. To do this, right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray, select "Settings", go to the "Account" tab, and make sure the "Files On-Demand" option is checked.
    2. Update Windows 10: Check for updates and update to the latest version of Windows 10.

      To check for Windows 10 updates, follow these steps:
      • Click on the Start menu and select Settings (gear icon).
      • Click on Update & Security.
      • Click on Windows Update.
      • Click on Check for updates.
    3. If none of the above steps work, try resetting OneDrive.
      • Press the Windows key and R to open the Run dialog box, enter wsreset.exe, then select OK.
      • A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close. You can close the Microsoft Store window.

    • Which Operating System are you using?
    • Just to clarify, for the error code that you provided is it 0x85002001d or
      85002012?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Error 0x8007016A: The Cloud File provider is not running.

    I can no longer open any zipped files, or move or copy any files in any of the OneDrive folders on my PC. Every time I try I get error message 0x8006017A and the message that "The Cloud File provider is not running".

    This problem occurs in both normal and safe modes, and regardless of whether the OneDrive app is running or not.
