When trying to transfer my activation to new hardware, I am simply getting an error.

I recently almost all parts in my PC, and when I try to reactivate the license I am simply getting an "Unable to activate Windows" error with no further description. What do I do?

    :)

Unable to activate Windows We can’t reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later.

After new hardware (motherboard) change: Tried all the suggested steps: Settings/Activation/Troubleshoot/Log into Account, but get always this message. Yesterday I got a message that the servers were busy try later, but today again I cannot activate and
    get the above error message

  3. Activation troubles after hardware chnage

    Here's what happened:

    • Linked my Windows 10 Pro Licence to my Microsoft account.
    • Switched out to a new motherboard, new install linked to my Microsoft account.
    • Activation has failed, (Error Code: 0xC004C003) when I try to troubleshoot:
    • Have been trying for 3 days now - still not activated.
Anyone got any ideas or suggestions on what I can do?

    Thanks

When trying to transfer my activation to new hardware, I am simply getting an error.

Is the free upgarde transferable? I think not.

    Hi Kari,
Can you confirm that the computer at step 5 (I numbered your list *Wink ) had never had an activated Insider build (especially not 10240)?

I'm wondering if it was possible that the second machine activated because the activation servers recognised the hardware from an earlier activation, and not because of the method you used to transfer?
