    When Trying to Use External Microphone 3.5mm Jack Does Not Think Mic is Plugged In.


    Hello,I've been trying to get an external microphone to record my voice. When I plug it in to my only 3.5mm headphone jack it thinks it is a pair of headphones. I know there is a function on dell computers that asks what you plugged into the jack, but I have a surface, I need this function. I have tried using a splitter to no avail.It is definitely plugged in.Mic: ANKO Gaming Microphone - AKA JunkAudio Driver: Realtek High Definition AudioSSTDevice: SurfaceOS: Windows 10 Thank you,If you need more information then I'm happy to diverge.

    i have a windows tablet with a dual headphones/microphone jack.
    i plug in a pair of earphones with a built in mic, the audio does come through the earphones but the mic is not used. the mic on the tablet is still being used.
    how can i get the mic on the earphones to work?

    Combo jack does not recognize external mic

    Hi, will it work to use an external mic plugged in to the combo jack? When I look in Realtek Audio Manager, the only option to choose is either Headphones or Speakers, but no Mic In. Why? Is an external
    microphone supported or not? The mic I am trying to connect is Aputure A.lav.

    Computer ASUS ZenBook Touch U500VZ
    Windows 10 64 bit
    Driver version from Realtek 6.0.1.7571 (this is according to Windows Update the latest driver)
