  1. When uninstalling software Win 10 wants password from other account

I created an account initially that is an admin account, then I created a second admin account. When logged into the second account, if I try to install or uninstall software, it asks for the password from the first account. Why won't it let me use the password from the second admin account? Is there any way to fix this?

Heads Up: Win 10 not recognizing 3rd party software registrations and interfering with passwords

I've got a number of 3rd party software apps that I can no longer use because the previous Win 7 registration or activations are no longer recognized after my Win 10 OS update. I can probably get this fixed next week from the software suppliers themselves,
even though it is a pain to have to contact and convince each individual developer that this is not a a new installation to a new PC or other device. I see that a number of other Win 10 updates have caused similar problems for other users.

A bigger problem for me is that Win 10 is interfering with some of my existing software to recognize my security passwords established with Win 7. When I enter the correct existing password, the software now yields a warning that I have entered an incorrect
password. Unfortunately it also fails to offer offer me the option to click on a "Forget Your Password" link or to reset a password.

This failure to recognize my accurate passwords did not only affect 3rd party software, but also my PC User Account passwords. It took some professional help help to overcome the User Account password interference, but the 3rd party passwords are still an
as-yet-unresolved set of problems. Any suggestions on how to get Win 10 out of the way here?

3rd party software developers may have not yet created a Win 10 compatible version of their app, so beware if you depend on the frequent use of such password-protected software and plan to upgrade to Win 10. On the other hand, I have no clue why Win 10 would
not accept my previous Win 7 User Account passwords.

How can I boot or wake up to select user screen

OK, Made one other user account an administrator account.

However putting a password on the original admin account did not make the computer boot to the select user page, It just required a password to enter the admin account then you have to sign off and select the account you want.

I see some saying the computer should do this on its own when accounts are set, others are complaining that win 10 is not booting to the select user page. Does anyone have a solution?

Again on boot I want Win 10 to boot to the select user page. Right now it boots to the admin account and we have to sign out and select the user.

    Help please.

    Thanks

First off I not challenging you but as you did not say you did this I have to ask....

Have you confirmed that second id is indeed an Administrator?

I agree with Ken, what you describe indicates that the second account is a Standard user account not an Admin user account.

If the second account was an Admin then Windows would be prompting you with a Yes, No choice and not with a requirement to enter a password at all.

Check the status of the second account at
1 [if you are logged in to the second user account] Settings, Accounts, Your info
2 [if you are logged in to the first user account] Settings, Accounts, Family & other people under the sub-heading Other people.

If you need to change the status, log in to the first account then use my #2 above to see the list of accounts, select the second account, click on Change account type.
