Windows 10: when updating from windows 10 to 11, rare white or black flickers began to appear.

I updated windows to version 11. And I started noticing rare flickers or something like that. They appear randomly, but sometimes more often when viewing YouTube and opening the launch. Then a full-screen white color appears for a millisecond. And so it can happen again both after 10-20 seconds and after only 10 minutes - 1 hour. I also noticed a black flicker later. I was crawling through the system, looking at the task manager, and suddenly a black screen appeared for 1 second and immediately disappeared.I have all windows 11 updates installed. Desktop items open Libreoffice; windows bugged and flickering

My mother's PC had the most bizarre bug I've ever seen this morning.

PC specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit
Version: 1903 when problem occurred (1909 now)

What happened:

• all desktop items, including folders, opened in Libreoffice Writer; once open it displayed a blank document then began flickering as if it had bugged while scrolling
• opened Task Manager from the task bar, selecting the second tab opened the final tab, which began flickering like Libreoffice
• problems stopped after a restart, then occurred again after another restart; then stopped after the PC ran for a short time
• no error popups or BSODs
• she said Candycrush reported an error earlier but it didn't occur when I looked at it; she said it mentioned "something about the desktop"

Steps I've taken:

• did a quick virus scan then reboot scan with Windows Defender; no problems found
• sfc /scannow; no problems found
• installed update KB4537572 and upgraded system to 1909; updates appear to have been successful, no other updates available

At the moment the problem has disappeared, but since it reoccurred previously I'm not sure it hasn't been fixed.

I'm out of ideas. What else can I check and what other tests can I run? Based on the given information could anyone suggest what the problem might be?

 

Black Flashing Screen Problem Persists


First allow me to apologize if using this incorrectly... windows 10 HP pavilion... have a flickering black screen on start-up that corrects itself then re-occurs at various times... there is a 1/4" white flickering line on top of black flickering screen and at times also on bottom of screen. Have had Windows 10 since first offered and have had no trouble until this began a week ago... I have read and read again all the self-help and honestly do not understand... I have most limited computer skill and called HP for help... would cost me 139. for online help...I am an old gal living on minimum set income and declined their offer. Hoping this forum will be able to help me. I would appreciate any simply explained step-by-step instructions on correcting this black screen flickering issue. Thank you for any consideration.

 

Monitor continuously flickering black and white

So I have a Gigabyte G27QC Gaming Monitor that has started flickering just black screen with flashes of white occasionally. What I think caused this to happen is I have a PC that’s running windows 11 and in the settings I saw an option to turn on HDR and thought to myself “why not turn it on? My monitor is HDR compatible”.

Soon as I clicked that option to turn HDR on my monitor just went black and started flickering. I can’t even log onto my PC since the screen WILL NOT stop flickering. Idk what to do. Do I try booting up in safe mode? Idk what to do.

The monitor works fine when I switch HDMI channels to my PS4PRO and I’ve just got my PC back from the company that built it for warranty work because I thought the flickering was an issue with my PC but it’s all fine they said.
