Windows 10: When using Dashlane (website or app) I cannot log in due to "incorrect password"

I am 100% certiain I am using the correct password (e.g., I can still use the app on my phone and can log in without program from my older Mac) but when trying to use either the MS Store's Dashlane app or log in directly from Edge OR Chrome (so this does not appear to be a broswer-specific issue) on my new Surface Book 2 w/ Windows 10 Pro (version 1803) I get an "incorrect password" when trying to log in. Can anyone help me? Is there some odd OS setting of which I'm not aware? Having access to my passwords is on the high end of important. Incidentally, I've installed all system updates. Cheers!

Like I said in the post before, I did not set up two-step verification. After the hard reset, when the account did not sync due to 'incorrect password', I tried to set it up and then accessed the MS Account with the app password but it still declared the
password incorrect. I immediately turned off two-step.

Automatic log on incorrect password

With netplwiz program there is one entry in the list, the local account name, and cleared a checkbox to automatically log on, used the good password, but at system start the name is the
local account name but there is the incorrect password message, i press Ok. There are two options, one is the
...@hotmail.com and one is the local account name and select the
local account name and enter the password, every time it is the same.

 

Website password


I have one website that Edge won't remember the username and password. As I type the username the next characters flash in the box. I went into Credential Manager and the site was listed with the correct username and password. I deleted its listing and brought the page up and logged in. Edge asked if I wanted to save the username and password; I clicked yes and went to another site, then went back and the login info wasn't there. It's back in Credential Manager.
