In File Explorer, selecting a file and pressing F2, one can use the arrow keys to start typing in front or behind a name. This will unselect the current name so that you can keep the original text and add to it. However, within a second, Explorer will select the text again so that if you start typing your original name is gone. Bug: cannot rename the file/dir to a name starting with "."

Just try to create, using Explorer GUI, a new dir with the name starting with "."

Surely it will, as usually in Windows, create "New Folder" and then rename to the new name.

And the rename step fails with the error of "Rename: You must type a file name"

"md" and "move" from the command line work fine.

Change the Keyboard Settings - Follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the Windows Start button and open the Settings app.
   
2. Select the Accessibility tab from the left sidebar.
   
3. Click on Keyboard on the right side of the screen.
   
4. Disable the toggles next to Sticky keys, Filter keys, and Toggle keys.
   
5. Disable the toggle next to Underline access keys.
   
6. Then, go to Typing under Related settings.
   
7. Turn off the toggles next to Show text suggestions when typing on the physical keyboard and Multilingual text suggestions.
   
8. After that, click on Advanced keyboard settings and make sure the correct language option is selected.
