Windows 10: When view JPG images the explorer closes suddenly, it started after recent windows update

I noticed when I view JPG images all of sudden the explorer close without warning it started after recent windows 10 update. Some time, I can view one or two images some time not. Nothing had changed on computer.To confirm the problem I installed third party image viewer and it work without problem. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.Thank you.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?
