Windows 10: When Visual C++ is installed, applications are unable to start correctly.

Hi all,

I'm in quite the predicament. after installing visual c++, some applications still say 'vcruntime_140.dll' is not found.However. when i reinstall visual c++, there's an error that says 'the application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142 click ok to close the application'

do i need to install something else too? i've tried looking it up and none of the videos helped.

I believe 0xc000005e means that the initialization of in this case most likely a prerequisite failed what would mean that one or more programs that are required are either corrupted or not proper installed.
I do also have MySQL Workbench, but I'm not 100% sure what programs are required. I reinstalled it a short time ago, but I installed Visual Studio before it what could be the reason why no prerequisite programs were extra installed (they were installed when Visual Studio was installed).

I suggest to remove the software from Microsoft, like

• Microsoft .NET Framework,
• Microsoft SQL Server,
• Microsoft Visual C++

and MySQL Workbench, download a new installation and try to install again.

 

Microsoft Visual C++ Redist

Hello,

1. Sometime ago I had virus attach and had to uninstall some programs. During the uninstallation along with the program, many of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redist were deleted. I now only have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redist alone. My system has been performing
very slowly. Is there any way to determine which of the Microsoft Visual C++ files are required to optimize the performance?

2. Also when I shut down or restart my system, the following error shows up: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application"

Could you please help me with these problems? I am not tech savy so step by step process would be very helpful.
